I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area surrounded by a rich and diverse culture and lots of exposure to art. While in college I earned a degree in visual arts and art history and spent a great deal of time studying the arts in Italy, France, and the UK. To earn a small income, I worked as a summer school art teacher, camp counselor, and a nanny. After undergrad work was complete, I headed straight into education committed to bringing together my two passions in life: teaching kids and art. I spent many years in the general ed classroom before deciding it was time for a change. When the time did come for that change, it seemed only natural to become an art teacher.
I currently live in the Washington, D.C. area, where history and politics meet my hippie West Coast outlook on life.
I love flea markets and "antique-ing", hoarding loads of ephemera and scrapbooking paper, sewing, traveling, getting cozy with a good book and cup of coffee, or day dreaming (I'm especially good at the last two items - just saying). I also am an artist! - How obvious right?
My artwork is a culmination of a lot of interests that brings together my love of all things vintage, my deep love for nature, and my admiration of the poetic things in life.
